I have always been a music person. Since my junior school years at nursery level, i used to find myself leading and teaching the rest of the school in songs that they had never sang before at my school.
I never had much to say or do during play time but when it came to music sessions during the morning assembly hours, my drive and passion in music would always come out in volumes and shine.
Twenty pluss years ahead, the interest to major into the local music industry was developed greatly when i would attend events at my home town’s local night club in Malindi.
Everytime a major artist came to perform at Stardust Malindi, i made sure to attend as quite the enthusiast fan beaming up support for our own local artists as it should be. ‘Redsan’ and ‘Bigpin’ used to be the most frequently performing artists at Stardust in those years. And big names too in Kenya.
It was not long before the many stage exposures i experienced at Stardust Malindi began to influence my interests to venture into the music world. I remember telling myself that if these great local names can do it that better, then i can do a much more better job at it.
Not so long later, my first venture project into the music world started with ‘Uovo’ a music group that was popularly known with its hit single ‘Pull Me Down’
‘Pull Me Down’ did so well in those years on radio and in the streets and when it got us nominated as the best ‘Upcoming Artists’ in the Pwani Music Awards, it was no surprise at all.
God has always been a great player in my life and with no doubt a great influence as well in my life in music. Always keeping a humble personality and making sure my songs, though secular, never had any ‘dirty’ concepts in their presentation and style.
I ve always been a great fan of ‘RnB’ music as a genre, i would say it has been the genre that i listened to the most during my years growing up. That and ‘Blues’ used to be my go to genres most of the times.
These two genres in music have heavily impacted my style in what i sing about mostly falling under the topics of majorly ‘Life’ issues and ‘Love’
A few years down the line after the success of ‘Pull Me Down’ i left UOVO and successfully merged my music experiences with ‘Kevo’ (Kelvin Ndwiga ) and ‘Paul’ – (Lewela Sio ) who at that time had their own group known as ‘T-BOANE’ they had formed since the year 2009.
The successful merge in the year 2011 is what gave birth to ‘Muziqreborn’ and the rest has been year after year of producing hits and amazing singles together as a family in music.
To date, Muziqreborn has managed to grow into a well experienced force in music at ‘Born For Muziq Entertainment’ a record Label under the stewardship of Muziqreborn, by Muziqreborn.
Since the merge, Muziqreborn has successfully had a great journey in music with great single hits like ‘Juju’ ‘Home and Away’ ( ft Mr Leny ) ‘Shuka Kidogo’ and others like ‘Wakanda’ ‘LaviLavi’ to mention but afew.
I am currently working on my first album as ‘Rey’ with My family brothers at ‘Born For Muziq Entertainment’ ( B4M ) and ‘Shadow’ is the first single in the seven songs EP Album. The rest and more amazing music is on the way so keep ‘Renato’ in mind as i am just getting started.
